FAQ

Q: How long does it take to receive my report?

A: Reports are run in the order they are received during normal business hours (9am-5pm Eastern Time).  Turnaround times may vary depending upon order volume, but typically reports are sent in approximately 10 minutes from the time the order is received. Color shaded maps and custom trade areas require additional time.

Q: There’s no download link. How do I receive my reports?

A: You will receive your reports in PDF format sent to the email set up on your account. We can provide the reports in Excel format by special request during the checkout process.

Q: When I add up all the racial information, why doesn’t it equal total population?

A: Do not include Hispanic in your racial calculation.  Hispanic is a nationality, not a race. Most Hispanics answer “white” or “other” on the U.S. Census.

Q: Where do you get your data?

A: All demographic data starts at the U.S. Census Bureau every 10 years.  It is then estimated and projected based on current trends in birth rates, death rates, migration rates…etc. .

Q: So how accurate is your data if everything is estimated and projected?

A: We are proud to say our 2009 estimates were < 5% difference when our 2009 numbers were compared to actual census counts in 2010.   We also run our reports based on Census Block Groups which are smaller geographic divisions than zip codes or census tracts which improves accuracy.
